New York Wines

At Winetasters we understand New York wines can be a tricky business, the climate is not suitable for many varietals.  Many experts feel upstate New York’s climate is more suitable to grow white varietals like Reislings and other native German varietal like Gewurtztraminer, and without doubt these varietal wines from upstate NY can be delicious.   Long Island vineyards have had some succes with Pinot Noirs, Merlots and Cabernet Franc, as well as Chardonnay,  the key is to taste them carefully to ensure they will be enjoyed by our customers.  Our selection of NY wines are award-winners, many of them were featured in the NY Times last year such as Ravines Winery’s Reisling and Cabernet Franc as well as Bloomer Creek Winery’s Pinot Noir.   Please come in and we can show them to you!
