Robert Parker-90 points!
The Wine Advocate – “The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Faust is designed as a second wine so that only the top lots end up in the Quintessa. It exhibits a dense ruby/purple color, sweet creme de cassis fruit, chocolate, licorice and underbrush characteristics in a delicious, fruit-forward, open-knit style. Enjoy it over the next decade or more.”  REG.$54.99

2011 MOLINO DI SANT’ANTIMO CABERNET SAUVIGNON “PERPAOLO”-TOSCANA IGT

Perpaolo-Cab

A beautiful liquid iteration of balance. It takes some time in the decanter to strut its stuff, but when it does, it fills the glass with aromas of red brick dust, clay, black cherries and red fruits. Soave on the tongue, with energetic acids, bright berry flavors, and dried basil notes taking flight on the midpalate. Medium-bodied, with a dry finish. Fantastic with brick-oven pizza and red-sauce pastas. A beautiful wine.  $17.99

Quinta do Noval Noval Black Port from Portugal

W&S91
Wine & Spirits – “Christian Seely recently introduced this wine in New York as a rethinking of the super-premium, multivintage Porto style. Black replaces LB, Noval’s former entry in this range, and uses top-quality fruit to create a soft, accommodating texture. The aromas are purple-black while the flavors are pure black cherry. Acidity spices it up and adds to the juiciness of the finish. It’s plump in the middle and supple all the way through, ending on fruit-skin tannin and a touch of chocolate from oak. At the level of many of the region’s best LBVs, this wine may become a staple for a new generation of Port drinkers.”

The Wine Advocate – “‘Black’ is a new blend produced from classic varieties that do not make it into the Quinta do Noval vintage. There are ripe blackberries, tar, smoke and orange liqueur on the nose that takes time to open. The palate is medium-bodied, very sleek on the entry, fleshy black fruits, sloe, spice and just a hint of white pepper, leading to a very focused finish.” $13.99
